One of our top priority fields from the very moment of the Amber workshop foundation was restoration of objects of arts and crafts of XVII-XVIII centuries made of amber, hard stone, wood, ivory, nacre and other materials. Our craftsmen restored a great number of amber items from funds of the State Museum preserve «Tsarskoye Selo». Today this amber collection which totals more than seventy objects is one of the most significant in Russia. Restoration of these objects was the first step to the great project of the Amber Room recreation.

However the Amber Workshop in Tsarskoye Selo performs restoration works not only for the Catherine Palace. For example, the Armory Chamber of the Moscow Kremlin commissioned us to restore marble tables with silver decoration (XVII century), and an icon inlaid with nacre in wooden case (XVIII century). For the collection of the State Museum «Saint Isaac's Cathedral» our craftsmen restored objects of XIX century in the technique of Florentine and Roman mosaic: a table-top, a clock and a decorative panel.
Our best craftsmen were invited to restore an amber casket of XVIII century from the collection of the Amber Museum in Varde (Denmark); an amber altar for Kepenik Castle collection (Germany), archaeological amber objects from the National Museum of Belgrad Collection (Serbia), fireplace decoration made of Ural malachite for one private collection (England) etc.
Nowadays the Amber Workshop is actively involved in restoration of objects of decorative and applied arts both on the territory of Russia and abroad.
